 AAPRA Mission

  • The American Association of Practitioners and Researchers of Ayurveda (AAPRA) represents highly qualified Ayurvedic physicians, practitioners, educators, and researchers world wide.
  • Its mission is to establish and promote a high national standard of education and experience to practice Ayurvedic Medicine of India (AMI) in United States of America. This is a pivotal time in the history of AMI in the US.
  • Let us work together to have this medical system recognized and regulated in the US and other countries in the world.

Goals

     AAPRA will achieve the following:

  • To file petitions for the regulation of AMI in states and conduct necessary campaigns.
  • To support public policy and regulations in all matters pertinent to AMI. 
  • To represent Ayurvedic practitioners in State Legislatures, US Congress and Government agencies on health care policy issues.
  • To serve as official representatives and spokepersons for AMI organizations in the US.
  • To establish and encourage maintenance of standards of education, experience, ethics and professional competence for licensing to diagnose, prevent, treat diseases, and maintain health, based on AMI health and therapies.

 

Vision

  • To conduct educational seminars and workshops on AMI.
  • To facilitate understanding of and cross referrals among AMI practitioner and physicians in other health care systems.
  • To conduct informational seminars or workshops for legislators, regulators, and general public and to facilitate understanding of the potential benefits of AMI.
  • To promote national and international collaborative research and to further the scientific validation of AMI,  the traditional practice known empirically to be useful in health maintenance and treatment.
  • To arrange national and international academic meetings for the presentation of scientific information related to practice AMI
  • To establish cooperation relationships with state and local AMI organizations and post graduate degree programs in AMI
  • To facilitate establishment of educational institutions for undergraduate and post graduate degree programs in AMI
  • To facilitated development of drug distribution centers and quality control efforts in guaranteeing safe and effective Ayurvedic products.
  • To intergrate AMI into the mainstream health care systems in the US.
  • To become a source of curriculum guidance to educational institutions for undergraduate and post graduate research degree programs in AMI.
  • To promote, protect and advance in philosophy, science and art of AMI.
